One week before your appointment

  • Avoid Aspirin (ASA, baby aspirin), Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Ibuprofen
  • Avoid supplements including Omega 3 (fish oil capsules, flaxseed oil, chia, and hemp seeds), Vitamin E, Ginkgo biloba, garlic, ginseng, ginger, St John’s wort.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages.
  • Avoid Green tea (herbal and black tea are fine).
  • If you need pain medication in the week before your filler treatment, use Tylenol (acetaminophen) if possible.


48 hours prior to your appointment

  • Stop anti-aging skincare products containing Tretinoin (Retin-A, Stevia), Retinol, Retinoid, Glycolic Acid, or other exfoliating agents.
  • Do not shave, wax, thread, pluck or use depilatory cream on the area to be treated.
  • If you are prone to bruising consider taking Arnica or eating fresh pineapple (contains bromelain which may reduce bruising).


Day of treatment

  • Arrive with your face washed, and without makeup.
  • A topical numbing cream may be applied for your comfort.
  • Please have something to eat and drink prior to arriving so you are not on an empty stomach.
  • Relax!

B.tox

One week before your appointment

  • Avoid aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John's Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, and NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen and Advil.


48 hours prior to your appointment

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages as the substance can thin the blood and increase the possibility of bruising.
  • Avoid medications like blood thinners or anti-inflammatories
  • Avoid shaving in the area that will receive the Btox (whether with wax, laser or cream)
  • Avoid products with 'anti-aging' like retinol, glycolic acid and alpha hydroxy acid.
  • Stop taking Retin-A.


Day of treatment

  • Arrive with your face washed, and without makeup.
  • A topical numbing cream may be applied for your comfort.
  • Please have something to eat and drink prior to arriving so you are not on an empty stomach.
  • Relax!

Microneedling

Two weeks before your appointment

  • Cosmetic procedures, such as botox, other laser beauty treatments and chemicals, should be avoided 


One week before your appointment

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or nutritional supplements, including Fish Oil, vegetarian Omega-3, Vitamin E, turmeric, ginger or garlic tablets. These products can prevent your blood from clotting, which may hinder your skin’s ability to heal during the recovery process.
  • Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and UV rays. You will want to refrain from using abrasive skincare products, such as retinol, exfoliants, topical antibiotics and acids,.
  • Refrain from treatments such as electrolysis, lasering, waxing or using hair removal creams for at least two weeks before your appointment.


48 hours prior to your appointment

  • Do not shave, wax, thread, pluck or use depilatory cream on the area to be treated.
  • Avoid alcohol - this can promote bruising and inflammation, which can harm or hinder the healing process.

Chemical Peel

One week before your appointment

  • Don’t exfoliate. Since a chemical peel is an in-depth exfoliation, it’s important that you don’t exfoliate for at least 1 week before your appointment. In addition, watch out for ingredients in your daily skin care products that may have an exfoliating effect. If you use such products prior to your treatment, you could cause damage to your skin. 
  • Avoid the sun. Most chemical peels respond better to skin that isn’t skin-damaged, so make an effort to avoid the sun as much as possible prior to your treatment, and if you are outside, make sure to wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunblock (at least SPF 30).

48 hours prior to your appointment

  • Refrain from using make-up. You want as little dirt on your face as possible before your peel, so take a break from wearing makeup for a few days before your treatment and let your skin detox! 
  • Do not shave, wax, thread, pluck or use depilatory cream on the area to be treated.
  • Stay hydrated. Your skin should be well-hydrated on the day of your chemical peel. Make sure you stop using any products that dry out your skin a few days prior to your appointment, and remember to drink lots of water.

Skin Boosters

Two weeks before your appointment

  • Avoid strong chemical peels - PH lower than 3.1.
  • Avoid Botox and fillers.
  • Any recent invasive or stimulating skin procedures i.e. micro-dermabrasion, electrolysis, IPL
  • Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, aspirin and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections

One week before your appointment

  • Stop using anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.
  • Do not wax or use depilatory creams.
  • Stop using Retin-A

24 hours prior to your appointment

  • Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

  • Avoid taking anti-inflammatories (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) prior to treatment (unless this has been prescribed by your doctor) as this increases the risk of bruising.
  • Avoid alcohol, fish oils, St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, garlic and Vitamin E to lessen the risk of bruising.

Day of treatment

  • If you are unwell on the day of your appointment, contact the practitioner to reschedule.
  • Arrive with the area washed, and without makeup on the area to be treated.
  • Ensure your practitioner is informed if there are any changes in your medical history or medication taken before receiving any treatment.
